Green Mountain Data Centre presentation at Datacenter Forum Oslo 2021 Tor Kristian Gyland  - CEO

Since the inception of Green Mountain, “Setting the green standard”, has been our vision for the company. Now, as we are raising the bar and adding heat-reuse, we are on the path of becoming carbon-negative.

However, in our search for the best solutions we have come across a few challenges. In the beginning we thought that district heating was the answer, and in some cases, it is. Another option is to use the heat for green houses, but this requires very large green houses in close proximity to the data center.

In this presentation I will delve on the pros and cons of different heat reuse options and explain how and why Green Mountain has chosen two specific pilot projects to develop.
