Data centers as ecosystems – Re-imagining Data centers for Regenerative Future

What if the data center was not merely a hub for digital activity, but a thriving multipurpose engine and ecosystem of a place? A place where energy is not just consumed, but generated, where resources flow dynamically, and which makes the connected systems flourish by creating a net positive impact on communities and the environment.

In this presentation we dare you to imagine the regenerative future of data centers and point out the business case behind it. We will create a glimpse of the vision and show the steps going forward creating data centers where efficiency is paired with holistic sustainability goals, innovation is entwined with resilience and performance coupled healthy environments.

Power Struggle: The Role of Data Centers in Finland's Energy Future

As Finland reassesses its energy strategy, data centers are emerging as both a challenge and a solution. How can data centers contribute to grid stability, load balancing, and heat reuse while managing their growing electricity demand?

Guests include:

Risto Kuusi – Senior Expert, Fingrid

Antti Hänninen – Caverion Suomi Oy - Advisor, ecogrid.energy

Sami Niiranen – Secretary of the Board, Finnish Data Center Association

Transforming Heat into Value

Data centers can be at the forefront of sustainable innovation through waste heat reuse: using the excess heat generated by servers into a valuable resource for nearby communities and industries. By doing so, data centers not only mitigate their environmental impact but also contribute positively to local energy ecosystems. What are the trends, specific challenges and, above all, opportunities for all involved?
