atNorth has applied for a building permit to build three new data centers in Myllykoski, Kouvola, next to the one they are already building.
According to Finnish news site Yle, the data centers will be located on the same land where the company is building its first data center, construction of which began in the summer of 2024. In addition to the new data centers, the company wants to build two new transformer buildings. The data centers and transformers would total almost 40,000 square meters. On its website, atNorth says the campus 'will have a power capacity of 430MW with a path to power of several hundred additional MW.'
According to atNorth, the first data center is expected to begin operations in the first half of 2027. 'Construction is already quite advanced. Now the interior structures are being built,' Tatu Tuominen, Director of Public Relations and Communications, said to Yle.
The permit division of the Kouvola Technical Board will decide on the building permit on February 11.
