GreenScale announced the acquisition of Tonstad DataPark, to develop its newest data center development.
Located in the municipality of Sirdal in West Agder County, Southern Norway, Tonstad DataPark spans a 420,000 square metre site with 300MVA of grid capacity, approved by Glitre Nett and Statnett. That will make it, according to GreenScale, the largest data center development of its kind in Norway. The campus is planned as a four data center development, with an expected investment of over €2.5 billion, and first capacity targeted for 2027.
“After five years in development, we are delighted that GreenScale is realising the exciting vision for Tonstad DataPark.” says Tore Knapskog, CEO of Tonstad DataPark. “We chose to work with DTCP and GreenScale as they gave us complete confidence in being able to deliver – from securing the power, the land and ultimately building a sustainable data center campus. The last 12 months have been a truly collaborative partnership – one built on trust and ability.”
