Nscale and Nordkraft have established Nordscale Operations AS, a jointly-owned company that will manage data center operations in the Narvik region.
The two companies have been partners since the start of the Narvik data center development project in 2025, with Nordkraft delivering operational services during the construction phase. Nordscale formalises that partnership, bringing together Nscale’s global AI infrastructure experience with Nordkraft’s regional expertise.
“We are confident that Nordscale will increase supplier efficiency by creating a Norwegian operator built on our complementary capabilities. Operation of critical infrastructure is one of Nordkraft core competencies, and with local roots we take responsibility for ensuring that this industry also contributes to jobs locally. This is the first example of how we can build industry in the wake of the AI wave,” says Eirik Frantzen, CEO Nordkraft AS.
Nordscale will begin operations in 2026. The company will be recruiting for several operational and management roles in Narvik across facilities, technical and corporate functions including mechanical, HR and HSE, with current vacancies listed on the website.
Supporting Local Businesses and Industry
In addition to creating new direct employment opportunities, Nordscale will plan to work with local and national businesses on data center operations and facilities management, including catering, cleaning, logistics, landscaping, snow removal, maintenance, and specialist technical services.
“This partnership illustrates Nscale's commitment to Northern Norway and the importance of building long-term operational capability in the region with local partners,” says Stian Jenssen, Nscale’s Managing Director for Scandinavia.
