Penta Infra announced the acquisition of a site in Copenhagen that will be developed into a state of the art data center of over 20,000m2, which will deliver 20MW of IT load.
Copenhagen is a major hub for data center supply in Denmark and Europe due to its strategic location as a digital gateway to Europe, offering low-latency links to markets across the region. Additionally, Denmark consistently ranks among the world's top countries for energy security and is a leader in renewable energy supply. Penta is planning to contribute to these sustainability achievements by constructing a data center that will be in accordance with the utmost industry standards for energy efficiency.
Penta Infra also aims to recycle the heat generated by the data center. This initiative has already been successfully implemented by Penta's other data center in Copenhagen, which currently provides heat to approximately 1,500 homes and has been recognized with an award for the most sustainable data center project in Denmark.
Penta Infra, a portfolio company of Photon Capital, currently operates a portfolio of 12 highly connected edge and core data centers in Germany, France, Denmark, Belgium & The Netherlands. Through this acquisition, the company is enhancing its presence in Copenhagen, with a second data center.
