Telenor opened Norway’s first AI factory in November. The facility enables organizations to process sensitive data securely on Norwegian soil while prioritizing environmental responsibility.
Telenor announced a partnership with Nvidia last year. Telenor’s Kaaren Hilsen, Chief Innovation Officer and Head of the AI Factory, joined the NVIDIA AI Podcast to discuss the AI factory’s rapid development: the AI factory went from concept to reality in under a year. Initially built to support Telenor’s own AI needs, it now serves customers across industries including logistics and public services, and delivers sustainable and secure sovereign AI.
Telenor’s also has plans to build a data center in Oslo that will run on renewable energy and repurpose excess heat for district heating in nearby residential buildings.
