Norwegian colo ASP Data Center announced it has officially acquired a former factory site in Dale Norway.
ASP Data Center will initially develop 20 MW of assigned power capacity, representing an investment of NOK 1.5–2 billion (approx. 130-172 million Euro). The majority of this value will remain with local businesses – electricians, plumbers, automation experts, builders, and service providers – which over time is expected to create hundreds of jobs during construction and long-term operations.
The ongoing work on a new transformer in Dale and the 420 kV power line running through the valley opens the potential for 300–1000 MW of future capacity. This would secure long-term activity on the construction side well beyond 2030, positioning Dale as a hub for sustainable digital infrastructure in Europe. Access to cold mountain water will allow ASP to operate with minimal external noise and high energy efficiency.
