Polar, a recently launched European data center operator, aims to develop the next generation of data centers to facilitate the latest developments in HPC and AI workloads. It has two sites in Norway immediately available.
The company, which has its headquarters in London, has just this last week hired a new CEO (Andy Hayes) and COO (Tom Chubb). The company wants to create 'the leading infrastructure platform for their customers to develop the future of AI'.
Of the two data centers it operates, DRA01 is located in southeast Norway. It has 12MW of IT load immediately available, with another 36MW in development. Polar says the site is 'AI ready and DLC enabled'. It uses free cooling, with rear door heat exchangers or direct liquid cooling options for HPC.
DAL01, located near Bergen in southwest Norway, reportedly has 20MW available with another 45MW in development. The site is said to be an existing industrial building previously used for manufacturing, and is sais to be 'an ideal facility to convert into data center space'. Both sites use 100% hydropower.
