Skygard has acquired two modern data centres in the Oslo area from Orange Business Norway. The acquisition will give the company increased capacity and the opportunity to serve more Norwegian businesses with secure and reliable solutions.
Skygard is owned by Telenor, Hafslund, HitecVision and Analysys Mason, who together have a broad expertise in telecommunications, energy, investment and technology. As a Norwegian company, Skygard offers full control over critical data on Norwegian soil, combined with high security and energy-efficient operations.
Skygard has now entered into an agreement to acquire the data centre facilities OSL3 and OSL5 from Orange Business Services Norway. This strengthens the company's position in the Norwegian and Nordic data centre market and secures the necessary resources to meet increasing demand for secure data storage.
"The acquisition marks an important milestone for Skygard. With this, we are significantly increasing our capacity and becoming a key player in secure data storage – a vital component of the digital foundation for Norwegian business," says Elise Lindeberg, CEO of Skygard. "We are taking over a skilled operations team and an established customer portfolio, which gives us the opportunity to deliver better service and greater flexibility. We are combining two established data centres with our upcoming facility at Hovinbyen, and together with an experienced organisation, we are laying the foundation for further growth."
"The market for data centre capacity is growing rapidly, driven by digitalisation, AI, cloud services and heightened requirements for data security. With increased capacity through strategic acquisitions and self-developed projects, Skygard is well positioned to deliver tailored solutions to the business sector," concludes Lindeberg.
